Beautiful Soles, we are excited to share our experience at the 2019 Teach Students Money Expo. hosted by 8 Cents in a Jar. 8 Cents in a Jar is a nonprofit founded by Florida A&M University Alumni Lashes Reaves in Orlando, Florida, which focuses on financial literacy. Kristiletto’s Closet Foundation, Inc. was invited to partner and participate in a Simulation in which the high school students experienced being an adult and living in the town of ‘8ville”; students received a career, wages, a family, and financial responsibilities (paying for health and car insurance, rent or mortgage, daycare, etc.). Kristiletto’s Closet was delighted to contribute to the Financial Simulation by acting as a storefront where participants were required to by clothing and shoes for work, leisure, and their families. Working the storefront was Kristie, our Founder, in addition to their shopping experience; information on how nonprofits and charities operate within communities. It was a great experience for both students and the adults. There were many educational moments and students learned how money flows through out communities. We can’t wait until Teach Students Money Expo 2020
